yoga and pilates teachers - join us?

We are always on the lookout for more good teachers to add to our team.  In particular, we now need a teacher for Yoga with Babies, and teachers for evening classes. As demand builds up at our new Surbiton studio, new daytime classes will also be introduced.
Pilates teacher

We provide two types of Pilates class.  Some are fast-paced and active.  Others are slower-paced classes, emphasising the fundamentals and good technique.  Yoga classes cover a wide variety of styles. Classes are small, so there is time for individual attention.

part time receptionist wanted

We are looking for a flexible and confident receptionist, willing to work some evenings and weekends at our Surbiton studio.  Previous Reception experience is essential, preferably at least 18 months. Some knowledge of yoga and/or pilates would be useful.   Hours are negotiable.

big changes at BoCo

As many of our members know, we always had in mind a slightly bigger studio for BoCo. We have been looking for a location that has all the advantages of HWP but with more space. Whilst small classes sizes are always the priority, we would like to be slightly less cosy in the full classes!

two studios - one membership

We have found another lovely space just 5-10 minutes drive from HWP. But because of the size and location, we are planning to open a second studio for BoCo rather than move. Membership will cover both studios, and we plan to open in January.

It is an excellent location this side of Surbiton, with more space and ample parking. We will be offering therapies and adding to the range of classes. We plan to integrate the timetables of the two studios so that they complement one another to give more choice and flexibility to members. It's convenient for Kingston on Thames also.

We are really excited about the new studio and all that we plan to offer. As always, we would appreciate your feedback and input as we plan for the new studio. Questionnaires are available in the studio - please pick one up and let us know what you think.

Members will be invited to see the new studio before we open and we’ll keep you updated.

6 Week Courses:

6 week courses at our Surbiton studio are ideal for beginners or for concentrating on a particular aspect. The structured courses allow you to learn and apply the techniques more thoroughly in order to gain maximum benefit. Your first course is open to non-members.

Workshop to enhance your practice and increase your energy

Techniques to help you:

  • move easily through a flowing series of postures
  • increase your energy levels in daily life
  • integrate principles of alignment into your practice.  

breathing, relaxation, meditation - with Khatun

This workshop will:
•   Give you more awareness in practicing your postures
•   Help you to achieve challenging postures with a greater sense of ease
•   Help you to apply this approach to trials and tribulations of daily life, and manage them with greater focus and a more relaxed approach.
•   Give you greater understanding of the causes and impact of stress, and how the body reacts.
•   Enhance your ability to choose your responses to stress, so that the factors causing stress do not have their habitual effect on you or your mood.

An 80 hour course – over 10 months from 26 September 2010

This course aims to widen your practical experience, encourage your personal development in Yoga, and prepare those of you who wish to become teachers. 80 hr “Certificate of Completion from KHYF and 60 hr “Certificate of Completion from BWY will be given for 80% attendance at the course. Not suitable for beginners – sorry.

Colette Savage has experience in a range of healing methods and is also NLP practitioner.  Along with guided meditations we look at different ways to calm your mind and relax.

Tai Chi - special class with Stefan Andras

Stefan and Andras lived in China for ten years and has practiced Tai Chi for 30 years.

Tai Chi is an excellent means of getting and keeping fit.  Tai Chi helps you learn how to use muscle power in the most efficient way, by eliminating rigidity and unnecessary tension.  Other benefits include:
